Nintendo's voice support has not changed since Mario 64 with the one exception of Star Fox 64. That's the one and only exception... I have no idea where you got this idea that they were increasing it from, but everything they have done since Star Fox 64 has done the exact opposite of suggest that that is the direction they are going.
