Having wireless decreases the size of the DS, which is likely one reason Nintendo went with it. Another being that wireless IS the wave of future regardless of how you feel about it. Cellphones, laptops, and now handheld consoles, it's all going wireless.

My level of interest in owning a laptop is nearly zero.
