As of March 2004, there were 24.10 million hardware units of GameCube sold worldwide.

Worldwide shipments of PlayStation 2 software were 200 million units for the year (more than GC in it's entire life) compared with 194 million units for the previous year, resulting in cumulative shipments of 630 million units as of March 31, 2005. Source
Granted, the PS2 one is a year later, but as you can see, they sold more in the last year than GC had up to March 2004.

I also looked at the last link there, about GameCube reclaiming the #1 position in America, and i checked a few other sources. It was #1 in March, not in total lifetime sales. Source
What I figure is, seeing as our friend lazyfatbum up there is a Nintendo loyalist, he won't be censured for using the f-word numerous times (which seems much more likely to start a flamewar than anything I've said so far), like I was for merely saying "Fascist".
