That was awesome.
I agree somewhat with what was said about Nintendo, but here's the thing; Nintendo held an extremely close 3rd and 2nd place with N64 and GC occasionally dipping in to 1st for a few weeks here and there, and with GC they did this with first party titles alone.
Nintendo isn't being given the credit they deserve because it's popular to bash them now, but the truth is I haven't seen a video game with as much quality or innovation in gameplay/mechanics and art than with the games Nintendo produces for the most part.
Pikmin is a shining example, so is WW with it's radical art direction and game mechanics. There is no Zelda game as smooth as WW plus it's in 3-D to boot which I often forget while playing because it feels so much like LttP only better.
I also think Nintendo handled its business very well with GC, that can be seen with the Resident Evil games. Unfortunately they focused so hard on specifics they didn't include some of the random AAA third party titles like Burnout 3. We get Twin Snakes, but where's 2 and 3? And holy krap, would have killed Nintendo to bring GTA to the GC just for the sales alone? They could have advertized it as "GTA with better graphics, progressive scan, 4 player, etc" and dug a niche for itself with the titles. but maybe it's better those games weren't on the GC. Everyone knows that they're krap games with extremely high cool factor, but man it would have helped sales.
