Maybe it's just more obvious now, but today's cartoons just seem to be more toy-commercials than anything, even though a lot of ours were nothing but. How many Ninja Turtles action figures were made from characters that appeared for a total of twenty-five seconds in the entire series?
I do think that most of our old favorites are really kinda krap now though. Captain N was ruined for me by me being able to watch it again. I'm sure TMNT would be, though I haven't yet. Super Mario Super Show still keeps its appeal though, to me, cause even when I was seven, it was kinda goofy. The Zelda show though... whee. Excuuuuuuuuse me, Princess. It's amazing to think Link was once a smartass, sex-crazed womanizing teenager spouting one-liners. It's what Link would be like if Acclaim used him to make one of their fantastic mascot platformers.
