Not just lip synching... also the way the thing is put together. For movies or TV shows especially -- the thing is designed for one language and when it's a quite different one, like Japanese to English, you have a big difference... Americans in general talk slower, for instance, and the pacing is all different... oh, dubs can be alright. But usually things just seem more natural when they're experienced in the language they were made in.
