Now you need to see the director's previous movie, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance. The movie is far more brutal than Oldboy (though I like Oldboy more), and I mean that in a psycholigical sort of way. Not that there isn't any violence in the movie--there is--but it's nothing like Kill Bill or whatever. It hits you on a much deeper level than anything like that could. The upholstry of the couch you're sitting on will practically be in shreads by the time you're done with the movie. Absolutely heart-wrenching.
