Lazy, your theories are interesting but I just don't see Nintendo doing something so complicated. If anything they're going to want to simplify the story and not delve too deeply into certain aspects of it.
And again ABF, Nintendo may say that story isn't important, but two of their biggest producers do believe that story is important. Those two people are Yoshio Sakamoto (Metroid) and Eiji Aonuma. Metroid Fusion had a very deep story for a sidescrolling shooter, and Wind Waker had by far the most comprehensive Zelda story ever. In most of his interviews Aonuma has mentioned story, chronology, and trying to make the series fit together as a whole. Wait until the new Zelda comes out; I doubt we will be dissapointed in that respect.
