Lazy, you have an interesting theory that fills in the gaps here, but the problem is that it's mostly just your theory, not the official one... I don't know if there even ARE official explanations for a lot of these things, really.
Link... it seems to me that the simplest explanation is the correct one: Link is as Nintendo has said the eternal spirit of the good guys like Ganon is for the bad. It's not a really complex philosophical or sprititual basis, I think... there is some, but as much as you say? I don't know about that. Still, there are connections that can obviously be made between spirits and the characters... Power/Courage/Wisdom as attributes of the goddesses and of Ganon, Link, and Zelda makes sense of course. But going from there to saying that Link is actually a child of a deity? I don't think so. Sure, it is strange that so many people who are so similar keep appearing in the Zelda games if you look at it historically -- so many Zeldas and Links? It's a case of developers wanting to use the same or similar characters without really thinking of the overall implications of their choices... which requires implausible explanations like the one they used to explain why there are so many Zeldas (the missing princess story which led to all future royal princesses being called Zelda... and there is no story explaining why there keep being heros named Link as far as I know...). Or no explanation at all, like they have done for some things, unfortunately. But for Nintendo at this point it's tough... even if they wanted to really clear up the story (and I am not convinced at all that they care, given their 'storytelling isn't that important' stance in so many of their games) it'd be hard to given how convoluted and at times contradictory they are and how many implausible explanations would be required... still, I'd love to see them do it. It'd be nice. :)
