Quote:There was a lot of story to the world. A lot of it was inferred. It was empty, but the point was that you were to essentially piece together what happened yourself. In other words, the story has to be figured out too. It is pretty different, and I understand you don't like the style though, so that's fine.
My biggest problem with Myst is that it killed the adventure game genre. :)
As I said, I enjoyed Timelapse... and as for inferred stories or ones told in journals, I certainly have liked that in some games (unlike OB1) so that isn't a big problem either... Myst isn't HORRIBLE. It was over-rated at the time, and it's got problems, but for what it tries to do it's okay... but I do prefer standard adventure games. For one, I prefer normal adventure game puzzles to logic puzzles like Myst. Those can be really hard! I'd rather collect items. :D
Quote:I hope they release Another here as well. It'd suck if they didn't. Sure, back then for some reason Nintendo didn't release their puzzle adventure games in America (maybe the murder mystery part of it was to blame), but I think things have changed enough that Nintendo should be willing to do it.
We still don't get all games, even if you leave out dating sims and stuff... and that seems like the kind of game that is right on the bubble.
