There was a lot of story to the world. A lot of it was inferred. It was empty, but the point was that you were to essentially piece together what happened yourself. In other words, the story has to be figured out too. It is pretty different, and I understand you don't like the style though, so that's fine.
I hope they release Another here as well. It'd suck if they didn't. Sure, back then for some reason Nintendo didn't release their puzzle adventure games in America (maybe the murder mystery part of it was to blame), but I think things have changed enough that Nintendo should be willing to do it.
