Quote:And how could you not like Ridge Racer? THAT is a great simplistic arcade racer, not your beloved Cruisin' USA!
Ridge Racer is certainly better than Cruis'n, but it's worse than Rush, F-Zero, Extreme-G, Wipeout, Rollcage, Hydro Thunder, etc...
Quote:Nintendo better release this game in the US or I'll be very angry, because it sounds really cool.
Definitely. It sounds great... I really hope it comes out here. But as I said I think the chances are very slim at best, sadly...
Myst... I never played Riven or any of the later titles, only Myst, and not that much of it. Enough to see that what you did is wander around in a sterile, empty world and solved puzzles. Now, I'll admit that I did enjoy one game of that type: Timelapse. Wander around and solve puzzles. So Myst isn't all bad. I just definitely prefer traditional adventures... I like interaction with other characters! As for story, Myst's is there I guess... I've heard that there are many journals full of stuff to read that is the story. So that's okay. But is there also a real main plot with depth? I don't think so. And there is no inventory, no one else to talk to, a totally different style of puzzles (all logic puzzles and stuff as opposed to having a few logic puzzles and mostly inventory or conversation puzzles), etc... Myst looked great but in substance it's not anywhere near as good. And really, it's almost a different genre from real adventure games.
