Quote:A game with the name "Another" could easily be mistaken for a conversation title from Japanese publishers Interchannel or Kid. But, surprisingly, Another is actually a NDS title announced today by Nintendo.
In this adventure game, billed by Nintendo as the first true adventure game for the NDS, you play as thirteen-year old Ashley. Ashley was born to Sayako and Richard, both of whom recently worked in the research lab of a secret government organization. However, due to some trouble surrounding "Another," a device developed at the research lab, Sayako was killed and Richard has gone missing. Using clues given to her by her father, Ashley must make her way to Brad Edward Island (Nintendo doesn't explain why this island is so special and why it has such a strange name).
Another makes use of the DS's unique feature-set for an adventure game filled with puzzles. You move around on a 3D map, progressing through a story as you play. The puzzle-solving part is done on the touch screen, with the screen used to display your movements from an overhead perspective. Specifics on the puzzle solving involved in Another have yet to be given out by Nintendo.
This single player adventure title currently has an undisclosed release date in Japan. The unexpected name along with Nintendo's promise of an intense story and character designs with a serious touch should make for an unfamiliar Nintendo experience on the NDS.
Nintendo better release this game in the US or I'll be very angry, because it sounds really cool.
