Generally, the first round and Finals round aren't worth much, the second and third are worth a lot, considering you have to guess correctly in the earlier matches to even be able to compete. Losing a character early on that you had picked as going far can devastate your bracket. The people who get the ten highest points when it's all over win prizes.
