Well, sorta... but it's still Zelda gameplay with puzzle solving so not exactly. Within each WORLD you DO keep all your stats, but they are reset for the next one. This is done to prevent any one character from KEEPING an edge over their friends, for fairness. It's actually like Bomberman in that sense too. Here's the thing, you are competing with each other WHILE working with each other, so in the end they had to even out the playing field at the start of each level.
