I think this is a first, but for once, I agree completely with OB1 and Black Falcon. You people are insane! Both OB1 and Falcon may be illogical and crazy and stubborn, but at least they have taste in games! That's what REALLY makes a person, you know.
Rare had supplied the N64 with some of the best games I've ever played in my life. B~K, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, JFG, Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Blast Corps, all overrated? Absolutely not. Each of these games deserves every bit of praise I've heard given to them (except DK64, I didn't care too much for that). It doesn't make much of a difference that N64 didn't have many games to choose from to begin with- these games thrive on substance, not hype. I still find myself playing much more N64 than modern games (including GameCube), and I wouldn't continue to spend hours at a time on each of these games if my love for them was inauthentic, willful and based solely on hype.
BTW, I'd say that JFG plays more like a 1st person shooter than a 3rd person shooter, depending on how you play it. The way I play it is that I hold R down to get into that quasi-first person view, where the model of the character becomes transparent, so you can run and aim at the same time. That made killing enemies a lot more fun, and it was easier to shoot off their heads, too. I could see enjoying the game a lot less if you relied mostly on auto-aim to kill enemies. I still wouldn't compare it to Mega Man, though.
