There's actually a video clip somewhere on the internet of a dead whale being blown up with dynamite. Apparently this town figured dynamite would be quicker and easier than trying to move it. They also figured that the dynamite would be powerful enough to completely incinerate the carcass and anything not burned up instantly would be small at best. In the end the town, which was about a mile away, was pelted with huge chunks of whale blubber, some weighing an estimate 100 POUNDS.

Sometimes you get the scorpion.
