I shrunk your text size. :)

Quote:Which is different how, from the liberal media propaganda that ignores all of these facts?

No, about the fact that there are more important facts out there. And it's not like the "liberal media" is so great either... they definitely support the war effort pretty strongly... and as for them looking a lot at the violence, that's just normal media behavior to prefer the car crash to the power plant opening.

Quote:The only time liberals expect perfection is when it's from someone they don't like... For everyone else, they make excuses.

What I'd expect is that when you start something you finish it. As in, Bush started Afghanistan. That war I think was much, much more justified. The Taliban were clearly strongly supporting a group that attacked the US. Taking them out was justified I'd say. But we had to stick with it! We had to send in the troops as peacekeepers in large numbers and secure the country and prevent the warlords from reasserting control. We didn't do that. The warlords are in control again. The nation is very far from stable. And we have forgotten about it. Starting Iraq when there were far, far more pressing major concerns we have to deal with in Afghanistan was a major, major mistake.

Quote:I think you ignored a very significant portion of that block of text you quoted.

Sure we've made some progress from when we took over, that much is obvious... I'm just pointing out that the problems are still very significant and the terrorism won't go away by us adding more judges.

Quote:The hell it doesn't. Our handling of Iraq is promoting reform among it's neighbors. There is no more method both effective and peaceful way of fighting terrorism then reform.

Saudi Arabia, maybe. Jordan, somewhat possible. But Qatar? I don't think so. They have a progressive king. He has been a strong supporter of the US actually... we have a major air base there now that wasn't there a few years ago. But he didn't liberalize the nation because of us, he did it because of him and his wife... and started a few years ago on it. :)

Quote:There will always be a portion of America that hates this war and everyone who supports it. So what?

As for Afghanistan, I agree, we're slipping a bit. I have faith that we'll get it under control again soon.

I meant his numerous abysmal failures in domestic policy.

And Afganistan slipped because once we "won" Bush stopped caring. I mean, no nice pretty explosions and he loses intrest in days...

Quote:Wow. How ignorant. Read a history book that didn't come from a public school once in awhile. Also, try reading all of the text you quoted.

I know that while there were some problems in Germany and Japan, it wasn't like this. Violence? Yes, there was some, particluarly in outlying areas (islands, etc)... but constant violence throughout the nations? No, it just was not like it is in Iraq.

Quote:"This has absolutely nothing to do with the war on terror."

Huh? It has everything to do with it... it has to do with how Bush hates the UN and will not do anything about the UN. If he had stuck with targeted UN sanctions and waited for the inspectors to finish he would have seen that Iraq has no WMD. He couldn't do that of course because then he wouldn't have an excuse for war, so he says that the UN is irrelevant...

And as for deaths during the sanctions, that isn't directly connected to the war on terror, but again, Bush's attitude towards the UN definitely affected how they acted towards Iraq in the last few years.

Quote:This proves why a little counterpropaganda is necessary.

The Iraqis won't be satisfied until we are gone, I think...
