Yeah, and half of it quit protesting low pay. And then some more quit for the same reason.

Nowhere near enough and many people are nervous to join the police because of all the violence from terrorists aimed at Iraqis who support the occupation. The pay doesn't help much either.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the war on terror.

The hell it doesn't. Our handling of Iraq is promoting reform among it's neighbors. There is no more method both effective and peaceful way of fighting terrorism then reform.

Tell that to the American people... or if you're just talking about foreign policy, the Afghans... I think they have a different opinion on that...

There will always be a portion of America that hates this war and everyone who supports it. So what?

As for Afghanistan, I agree, we're slipping a bit. I have faith that we'll get it under control again soon.

Oh come on, you expect anyone to belive that Iraq is farther now than Germany and Japan were after six years of occupation? Insane. Those nations after six years had representative democracies, and no war! And the people were happy or at least tolerant of the fact that we were occuping their nation...

How about the ~450 dead American soldiers? The thousands of innocent Iraqis killed during the war?

What about them? Those are all very unfortunate, but the results more than justify it.

The tens or hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children killed by the sanctions (which were a good idea because they worked very well in stopping military buildup in Iraq, but should have been implemented in a way that didn't lead to mass deaths because of lack of medicines and supplies in hospitals...)?
