The death penalty was abolished in canada for decades now, Too many wrongly convicted people were executed for crimes they didnt commit.
But people like Paul Bernardo needed to be executed in my opinion, After you rape and kill a dozen women how can you ever be rehabilitated?
Honnestly keeping serial killers alive is a sercurity risk, They could try to escape and maybe even succeed.Why would tax payers want to pay for a individual who would like to hack them to pieces if he could.
I believe the time they should await death row is 10 years maximum , Ample time to appeal or prove innocence,5 should be average.
