Not especially. A wet sponge is put on the condemned prisoners head before they put on the headgear. Electricity comes down, through the sponge, and fries the brain. You feel pain for maybe a split second before your brain evaporates. The rest of the electrocution is just to make sure the job is done.

Don't think it'll be soon though. After he makes his way through death row, we'll be lucky if he meets Satan before 2010.
