Hudson doesn't hate any game company, he just likes the PS2 more. So he's defending it. I do the same thing with Nintendo, so I guess I sound as much like an idiot as he does. :D
And yeah those are awesome screens. PS2 couldn't do it without alot of tricks to hide loading times since you couldn't have all of that at one time on PS2. But it could still look as pretty. However, and call me a liar if you want, the GC could not only do everything in those XBox screens, but make it look even better. It's all in how well the CPU is handled with the graphics and RAM. At school we had Panzer Dragoon Orta running on Gamecube hardware and there wasn't a single drop in frame rate or smoothness, I heard some of the guys even got a 2 player split screen working on it without a problem (but the 2nd player couldn't shoot anything or the game would freeze). XBox couldn't do the split screen without dropping one of them in to teens of fps.
It makes me wonder if developers just dont give a shit when they dev a GC game. It's possibilities are virually endless. They even got the GC to send video to the GBA so you could play Metroid Prime on it (with about $1500 of extra hardware). The people I was working with said they can get the cost down to about 150 out of pocket, so their proposing the idea to different companies. It worked with PS2 and XBox as well, but who cares. :D So if we found this shit out ourselves, i'm sure Nintendo did too... so what's up with them? They could litteraly create a game that would make XBox look like last gens hardware. I dont get Nintendo's marketing where they release a wave games (3 games) with nice graphics then spend a year without any upgrades in the graphics, then send another wave out with updated graphics and continue the process, why not show what it can do NOW then see if devs can even improve upon it? bah
anyway.... I have no idea what this thread is about....
