There's more to the reviews though. They said that while there are insane amounts of cinemas in the game, there is actually a lot more gameplay than in most recent RPGs, and that the battle system is very good and there's lots of customization in the game. One reviewer also mentioned that after the first four hours or so of cinemas it lightens up and the rest of the 45 hours of gameplay are terrific (with plenty of cinemas in between all of that). So as I understand it there are a few bours worth of cinemas at the very beginning of the game, but it gets less frequent as the game moves on and the cinemas actually become a nice break from the tough gameplay. I believe that there are around six hours or so worth of cinemas in the game.
And to tell you the truth, I'd rather have a cinema explain the story to me instead of having a static image of two little sprites talking to each other like in Xenogears.
