Yeah, FF6, while indeed a very easy game (the only FF easier is likely FF7, excluding Mystic Quest of course), it's still a very fun one. The last half of it is indeed an open book letting you go to wherever in pretty much whatever order you want, OR just go and beat the game if you can with just 3 characters. It also had a nice duel-main-character thing going on. Some say there was no main character and all were equally represented, but that's clearly not true. Gogo, Umaro, and Mog have pretty much NO story. Gau, Shadow, Strago, and Relm have story but it's not a main focus througout the game. There are ones with higher focus, like the Figero brothers, Cyan, and Locke, but they still aren't focused on througout the game. Only two have focus throughout their parts of the game. Terra has total story focus throughout all of the World of Balance, and Celes has primary focus throughout the World of Ruin. Thus, I consider these twin main characters, with the story changing focus midway through. Nice job I'd say.
To be honest, my 3 favorite FF games are FF6, FF7 (yes, I know I said it's even easier than FF6, but there are some challenging moments missing from FF6 like the WEAPONs, and it's got hte same all around fun feeling I got playing FF6) and FF9 (FF8 I do enjoy, though I'm one of the few who actually does because I actually does, but FF9 actually managed to capture that FF6 feel again, plus adding the lovely scenario select system). This may change when Crystal Chronicles comes out.
