I don't like Kazaa. You see, I generally don't know what I'm looking for when I go to download something. That's why I love Directconnect so much... you can easily browse the other people in whichever hubs you are ins shared directory trees and queue what you want to download... sure the selection in each hub isn't as good as it is in Kazaa, but since there are so many hubs out there you'll probably find what you want... or at least I've found stuff good enough. :)
Oh, and for me too most of my MP3s are either stuff you can't buy in this country without importing it, or stuff you can buy that I just wouldn't, or own some of anyway, or other things... like classical. Sure I have way more than our family owns on CDs but we do have a bunch of classical CDs... as for videogame music do they sell ANY of those instrumental game soundtracks in this country? How about anime soundtracks? Sure you can probably get them somehow... but it'd cost so much! No way would it be worth it...
Now if I liked Rock, or whatever it'd be harder to justify... but less so with my taste in music. Sure a lot of it its for sale. Oh well.
Oh, and the fact I'm completely broke and will be for quite some time has a big influence too. And when I do have money... I'd rather spend $20 on a used game than on a CD, by far. Or for saving for books, a CD burner, or a bigger harddrive...
