Quote:My opinion is that the music labels have been robbing the public off with 7 cent cds being sold for 23-30 bucks, When in reality you probaily just want 1-2 songs.
You are playing $23-$30 for a single cd? Who's the idiot?
Something interesting, since it seems that you think the only cost to making a cd is the actual disc itself. When artists are writing music, they usually aren't doing anything else for a job. And as I believe they are still human, eating is usually a thing they enjoy or even find neccesary. And don't forget the pesky cost of a house so you don't die when you sleep in the rain. Aside from those sort of things, they need a place to record the music, equipment to record it on, people to do the recording and producing, and so on. Then there are the costs of making the cd and case and all that, which is a bit more than 7 cents. And don't forget advertising. Yes, they do charge too much for these and the record companies make too much money, but the only rich artists are the ones that sell millions- probably not ANY of the ones you listen to.
And even if you still find all that too repulsive to support and think they are rolling in dough, maybe these people deserve to be rich because they actually got off their sorry butts and made something of themselves instead of just complaining that they didn't have enough. They could have complained all day, but instead they practiced and practiced and practiced. If you want it all to be equal, go to communist China and be equally disgustingly poor like everyone else. We have the tremendous opportunity to make a life and do what we want- just because you are too lazy to make good on your opportunity doesn't mean the people who do should be punished. Quit whining. Music is not something you need to survive. If you want the enjoyment than pay the price.
