I also agree that I remember no promise of huge revalations here... I didn't expect huge new GC games to be announced and they weren't. Why were you expecting that? Saying "year of innovation" means nothing...
And anyway Miyamoto works on lots of games at once. If this one is truly this simple (which I'd doubt they'd do for a full retail product... its a great mode of the game but is that it? If so it should be cheap.) it shouldn't take long... I'd bet on that not being the whole of the game, though. :)
