Well, from the Sony conference, Sony will challenge Nintendo's long-held monopoly of the handheld market in Q4 2004 with "PSP." Nintendo must be crapping themselves. It would be naive to dismiss Sony as "just another failure waiting to happen." As we know, Sony has the ability to take Nintendo head on and simply beat them at their own game. However, this may be the wakeup call for Nintendo. With it's console in third place worldwide and it's handheld cash cow threatened, Nintendo may be forced to take some drastic actions.
This is really a shocker to me. The fact that the existence of Nintendo could be threatened really didn't seem possible because of the profit-making powerhouse that is Game Boy. This forces me to think that there is a possibility that Nintendo will simply fade from the hardware side of things.
...But enough of this worrying! We've got a Nintendo conference to watch! And it will undoubtedly excite and amaze me, to the point that I will urinate on myself.
