I do see kind of a resemblance in character art style. As I recall, they also did the Frosty the Snowman cartoon and The Hobbit (and maybe the first two LotR books?).
I'm interested to see what they did with Culex. I loved in the original game how they used the Final Fantasy IV boss music and the classic FF victory theme, plus the crystals. Square loves to do that kind of "Am I in the right universe?" type stuff, like with Gilgamesh in various FF entries.
