Not gonna lie--this hit me right in the nostalgias. It looks beautiful, and the reorchestrated music sounds gorgeous. As far as the voice acting is concerned... I'm fine with it. I feel like we've come a long way from Final Fantasy X in terms of the quality of voice acting in video games (not saying FFX's voice acting was all bad, but it could be a bit cheesy at times). And yeah, I agree that there's a certain charm to the campiness of Star Fox 64 (OG)'s voice acting. I didn't hate the voice acting in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but yeah, when you're used to imagining what the characters sound like, it can be a bit jarring to have a voice that may or may not be anything like you imagined suddenly transposed onto them (looking at you, Scottish Cait Sith and Southern Cid).
Will this be a solid remake or even the definitive way to play OoT going forward? I don't know yet. I'm cautiously optimistic for the former, at least.
