I was starting to think I just hallucinated this show, but it's concentrated high concept 80's nonsense.
Basically, the premise is a single man with a son gets a robot girl delivered to his house, puts her together and oooh the sitcom hijinks ensue. Stuff like her completely misunderstanding human concepts, or how they have to hide that she's a robot because the company that built her for... WHATEVER purpose a company would build realistic child robots for, would take her back and erase her identity.
Anyway, there's an actual human little neighbor girl who's a nosy brat suspicious of the robot girl, and also jealous of her because she's got this crush on the human child of that father and she's always pulling outlandish sitcom stunts to win his affection and get the sister, that for some reason she thinks is a love rival, out of the way.
All in all, typical 80's sitcom trash, but I can't believe I finally stumbled across the actual NAME of the show!
So I don't forget again, now that I know the name I have a video of the opening. For some reason, the first couple seasons had this very 50's or 60's style song, but they "modernized" it to feel more 80's a few seasons in.
Never mind my dumb nostalgia, just thought I'd throw this one out there as a weird bit of memory.
