While it's true that digital purchases have outsold physical purchases for many years now, it does come across as a bit of a death knell. Read my above post for more details on just what I think of all this in general.
GOG seems to be about the only place we can reliably get DRM free installers to keep as backups any more. Even 3DS/Switch/Switch 2 games are on a short clock before the storage fails completely.
