When October 7th happened, my first thought was, this was the best thing Trump could have ever hoped for. You could not ask for a more perfect wedge issue to take total control over leftist dialogue and turn it against the liberal establishment. I have no doubt in my mind that FREE PALESTINE voices are amplified by the right, because it does so much of their work for them. Your average American voter who is trying to make ends meet and navigate life right here, does not give a fuck about Palestine. Hate it all you want, but that's reality, and leftists just can't adapt to that. They seem more focused on destroying the Democratic Party and replacing it with a million different conflicting vibes. It's no wonder Republicans win.
I've come to the conclusion that there's no ideology left for the likes of me. Establishment liberal politicians have absolutely zero credibility outside their own partisan universe, are in it only for their own personal perks, and just kind of assume everyone hates Republicans enough to vote for them instead. Establishment voters don't want their own comforts compromised by change, things could be better, but establishment liberals tend to view real problems as abstractions in need of the perfect message, which they always find, and always deliver it in the least genuine ways they can think of. Leftists, in general, are just a complete mess, there is no coherence, insane amounts of infighting, an overall highly negative and fatalistic attitude towards America, making it impossible to achieve the meaningful capacity to make any of the changes they talk about, because their messages are tailored entirely to themselves and their like-minded friends. Worse, I am firmly convinced that leftist online discourse is thoroughly infiltrated with bad actors, both from American right wingers and from foreign antagonists.
In my opinion, both liberals and leftists unwittingly conspired to hand the country over to Trump.
