Being able to take over enemies is basically an endless source of powerups. Only, instead of Mario wearing hats, everything else wears YOUR hat. Also, Wonder Cultural Appropriation Mode, ACTIVATE! Form of, Sombrero! Form of, Poncho! Although, a lot of those costumes resemble various cameo rolls Mario had in a lot of older games.
I'm pretty sure near the end of that trailer we saw Pauline at her day job. That settles it, the "real world" this game takes place in is the same one Mario fought Donkey Kong in. Also, that photorealistic dinosaur... So, is this game like... Super Mario Bros: The Movie: The Game?
