Fads are weird. One day you've never heard of something, then a week later all the kids want one... that happened here for sure. But yeah, I presume the appeal is pretty much just 'it's a fad so I want it because everyone does'?
On that note, I think I still have my (small) Pog collection somewhere in the basement. :p
