She has caught birds before, but fortunately it's been a while. Well, she did catch one bird last year, but she brought it in alive, so I got it away from her and brought it outside (and not where she could get it)... but yeah, small rodents isn't too bad, but birds? I can kind of understand why my mom made her current cat indoor-only; a lot of it was because of that.
