A Black Falcon Wrote:Cuda? I probably should know that, but what is it?
Cuda allows a graphics card to donate time from it's GPU to 3D rendering programs, it allows advanced math calculations to be done at super fast speeds. Some of the latest GPU's essentially have what is a effective hundreds of cores and the latest rendering software can harness this for some totally bitchen artwork mak'en. I wish I had one so bad, the latest version of blender has a totally redone renderer called Cycles that makes 3D renders using real physics for incredible results. Cycles can harness the power of Cuda to triple or quadruple render speeds, since I don't have a Cuda powered graphics card physically accurate renders for me can takes 5 or six hours for just one frame.. :(
