You're right, there are some reasons to worry here, unless there are some kind of secret protection measures it sure does sound like it'd be possible to spread a virus or something through the system way too easily... it's something I've heard people mention so hopefully Nintendo didn't leave things so open that that could happen, but with the "auto download without asking you from other systems" system, it does seem hard to avoid the fact that it could well happen... and yeah that would not be good.
