Feeb. he's saying the other Metroid's are made by the Japs and contain no malice towards women- its specifically a Team Ninja thing.
However, if its treated as the first Metroid game her character shows a woman becoming a strong soldier and heroine (Just like Alien or Terminator). In Fusion she was denied use of her abilities by the Metroid version of Star Fleet, its military working with a vigalante/bounty hunter for pay and it makes sense to have those kinds of limitations and regulations.
I do like the clone theory though, a 'newborn' with all the memories of Samus.
That game where you play as a half naked chick and all of her moves are based on showing skin is a sexist game. Call of Duty, Halo, etc are sexist because you cant even play as a woman. See how easy it is? The bottom line is that its a solid Metroid title with its only real con being the (sometimes) wonky controls and camera, which is fine since its the first step in a new direction - I saw it described as 'Metroid of War' and 'Samus Gaiden' so a few experimental aspects with occasional wonks is permisable.
