Personally I don't like spicy food. Physical pain while I eat isn't my idea of a good meal, but to each their own.
Keep this in mind though. That person's "ignorance" may merely be the only means of rebellion they can muster, pointing out the stupidity of a company decision they too see as idiotic by reveling in it to an extreme.
