I maintain what started this debate is an invalid argument, that certain things are "general knowledge". Terms like moe and weeabo are important to amine culture, not Internet culture. 4chan and it's memes are pertinent to overall Internet culture. Someone can very much be a part of Internet culture, yet be separate from anime culture, and therefore their confusion is warranted.
