EM, I've listened to a fair share of BR songs...they all sound more or less the same.
You pointed out that the beats are hand made and not those by a synthesizer...true, but when you compare a punk band like BR to a metal band like Disturbed (doesn't use sythesizers, not rap), you notice a large difference in the quality of songs (guitars, drums etc.). They are just more talented. Also, I think that Disturbed's lyrics are more meaningful than Bad Religion. BR sings about current events and are more of a 'political' group. Disturbed's David Draiman sings about his life and events happening around him. IMO, those thoughts have a lot more meaning than another opinion of the state of the world.
