A Black Falcon Wrote:Back in 1999-2001 the site was actually relevant and was linked by some major Nintendo fansites, most notably Nintendojo and Tendo Box. I read Nintendojo, so I ended up here in late 1999. The forum was created in fall 1999, and lazyfatbum was one of the first members. Originally it was called Tendo City, then Rumble City. Sony and Sega (Shock and Blast) Cities were created. During this period TC was a successful forum, with a reasonably sizable userbase, links from major sites, a monthly contest to win free games (because ice-9 had enough money to do things like that)... the overall site was nurb.com or something like that.
Then, the original founder (ice-9) decided to kill all three of the console forums and only keep open the site he cared about most, virtuafighter.com. The site never recovered in terms of userbase or popularity, not even remotely close... we've been coasting slowly downhill for the most part ever since, though it is impressive that we survived at all really. Ice-9 isn't that popular around here, or wasn't at least, certainly. :)
He did manage to kill off the smaller Blast and Shock Cities (Blast tried to survive as a separate site, but stuff happened and they fell apart and closed down),
Then much more recently Weltall gave the site to his friend EToven.
Your actually saying that this site was actually "Big" at one time? !!!!
What happened to Vanilla Ice-9? Maybe you should invite him over sometime for some tea and sodomy.
