This is the video, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5TE99sAbwM
I don't know if there is anything that can be said about somebody who says things that unbelievably horrible... so the earthquake is a "blessing in disguise" because it might let them rebuild the city... but, um, what about the tens or maybe hundreds of thousands of dead people? Horrible thing to say.
But the next part is even worse. To say that Haiti is cursed because THEY WANTED TO BE FREE FROM SLAVERY (that "they swore a pact with the devil" thing is ridiculous and an obvious cover for something I can only explain by saying that he must be quite racist) is so unbelievably racist and horrifying that there's really not much to say aside from that it's obvious that some Southerners still haven't gotten over the fact that slavery isn't legal anymore.
The only thing Haiti has been "cursed" by is racism. Haiti fell apart after winning their independence in the late 1700s because all of the major world nations ostracized them, afraid of a nation run by ex-slaves... and the tiny country couldn't stand up all on its own. Of course that doesn't explain their whole sad history, but it sure explains why it started out badly, and why it stayed that way for a long time. Racism is still, as Pat Robertson proves there I would say, obviously still a potent force.
