Apparently it was Garret Wang( Harry Kim) who was originally supposed to leave, Remember how he got all covered in species 8472 crap and almost died? They dumped Kes instead simply because Garret Wang got featured in People's magazine 100 most beautiful people Chuckle

To bad it wasn't Neelix....
