Drag Me To Hell is god damn hilarious and Sam Raimi is a genius at directing horror movies that make you squirm and laugh all at once. My face and stomach hurt by the end of the movie from guffawing like a donkey. Not sure how many other horror movie fans are here, but what they say is true - Raimi's back in his element and doing what he does best with Drag Me To Hell, instead of making unintentionally (I think?) hilarious Spiderman movies. I think a good description of the humor came from a review I read from someone who saw an advance screening who said that with all the slapstick abuse the main character goes through, you can practically hear Raimi cackling behind the camera.
I thought the acting from the leads Alison Lohman and Justin Long were a bit weak, but it seems a lot of people disagree with me (from reading other messageboards). Also, while I'm generally not scared of movies and never expect them to make me unsettled, the person I saw this with got creeped out by the gypsy lady. It doesn't rely on gimmicks or cliches, aside from perhaps a couple jump-scares. I recommend this 100% to any horror movie fan or anyone with a dark sense of humor in general.
Also, Up is excellent and Pixar hasn't lost their shine one bit. They're easily the best animation studio out there today. Go see it, it can be appreciated by all ages, despite the gimmicky talking dogs that were probably thrown in to help attract the kiddies. One area where Pixar excels is creating movies that can be appreciated by all ages. One caveat, though - the first 15 minutes are heart-wrenching. My girlfriend told me she was crying when she saw it with me, and I didn't notice her because I was too busy getting choked up myself, which is really rare for me when seeing a movie.
