There are a lot of conservative people in this country... though fewer in the last two years than at any other time in the last 40 years or so, I'd say. And anyway, McCain's support isn't enough to win. Currently he has like a 5% chance of winning, at most... I don't think McCain is going to win. It's possible... but unlikely.
But anyway, there are plenty of reasons beyond race to vote against the Democrats, for many people. Taxes, abortion, religion, foreign policy, etc... many people simply don't like Democratic positions on those issues. America has been a conservative-majority country for the past 40 years (it was a liberal-majority country for the 48 years before that). It's only just now changing...
