Quayle was the ultimate lightweight, error-prone politician... I don't know if he ultimately hurt or helped in 1988, but his lasting reputation is of stupid gaffes and misstatements, most famously the infamous "potatoe" incident. Good looking, young... but nothing there. I don't know if that describes Palin too though, it's probably too soon to tell.

Hard to believe the "so called maverick" Mr John McBush once contemplated changing parties back in 2003?

I don't know much about "Bidden", It seems by the sounds of it that he is the most qualified man in the hole race.

After Dennis Kucinich (the only true liberal in the race) and Hillary Clinton, Biden was my third favorite of the canddiates. I do wish Obama had picked Hillary as his VP, but of the rest, Biden was the best second-choice pick, I would say.

Biden, I thought, had by far the best foreign-policy program of any of the Democratic candidates this cycle...He didn't just have the most experience, but also the best plans. Yes, he voted for the war because, like many, he was fooled into it by the Bush administration's lies, but once he realized that those lies were indeed lies, he turned on it quite strongly. Biden's a very good choice... but ideally, it should have been Clinton. Oh well... at least it's a good, safe choice. And with the Democratic presidential candidate being such a different sort of person, choosing the safe choice for VP is quite understandable, and quite possibly the better choice...

Although I think Wesley Clark would have made a good Veep, Clark would probaily be less proficient in the art of politics then Biden .

Clark would have stolen the thunder away from John McCain's "war hero" racket.

Wesley Clark is alright, sure, but I do think Biden was a better choice... he just has such solid national and international security credentials, and he's a great debater too.

It is true he sometimes says really stupid things, which is the main drawback, if he says one of those stupid things in the next couple of months... hopefully he doesn't. :)
