Just because it hadn't been down doesn't mean she didn't have good cause to ask the question. Look, the fact is "one hour service" is no longer a trustworthy statement. Sometimes you have to ask the stupid questions.
Also, if this is your gauge of stupid customer, maybe they aren't all stupid. What I'm saying is you MUST look at this from the customer's point of view. This is especially true in the era of 4 dollar gas. What if she had actually went there and the photo machine HAD been down? She'd be out the cost of that gas. It's perfectly reasonable to make sure the job is DONE, and that sometimes means you have to be a little insulting in suggesting sometimes the place doesn't get things done in one hour.
