It ridiculous because no PS3 or Xbox360 games are designed to work with the Wiimote. Any games developed after this "software update" would split the market between people that have a Wiimote and people that don't, forcing many to go out and buy additional controllers to take advantage of this. Then you have to convince developers that its in their best interest to try to shoehorn in motion-sensing controls into games that were being developed with an entirely different control scheme in mind, delaying development of those games by months. Then they will have to decide if new games should be designed with the Xbox360 controller, Wii controller, or both in mind. All the while they'll have to dodge legal suits from Nintendo, and if you think their won't be any you're crazy.
Shoehorned controls are terrible, just look at the Wii's current library. Good shoehorned controls, which are quite rare, take months of time, just look at Twilight Princess. And even games developed with motion sensing in mind can easily turn out terrible and cause the developer to lose millions, just look at Lair.
It won't work and it won't happen.
